Class Rules

Here in Physical Education we follow 4 simple rules that ensure all of our classes can be filled with as much learning and fun as possible:

1) Be Safe.

- As an educator, my most important job is to make sure that everyone stays safe at all times. During class we remind students that we stay safe by: staying within the game boundaries, following the rules, keeping our eyes up, staying on our feet at all times (unless instructed otherwise), moving at a speed we can control, and using the equipment the way it was meant to. I would also like to ask you to help ensure the safety of all students by making sure your child wears sneakers on the day that they have Physical Education :).

2) Be Responsible.

- In Physical Education and everywhere at Clintonville it is taught that we should do the right thing. Being responsible in Physical Education means that students are listening to directions, following rules, and playing fairly to ensure that everyone has the ability to learn and enjoy their class time.

3) Be Respectful.

- Being respectful of ourselves, our classmates, and our teachers is of the utmost importance. In Physical Education, we show respect by being kind to everyone, by being thoughtful and looking for ways to make the day better for the people around us, and by being appreciative & letting someone else know we are thankful when they do something for us.

4) Be A Friend.

- By being a friend to everyone, we can ensure that all students feel safe and comfortable coming into the gym. I like to remind each class that they are like a team and teammates look out for each other. Sometimes in class we may play against each other and things may get competitive but that's ok as long as we can demonstrate good sportsmanship in the process. I also like to remind classes that the games we play are never as important as the people we are playing with and that winning should not come at the cost of putting someone else down. Everyone in class deserves to enjoy their time in the gym and being a friend helps make that possible.
